A pharmacist by trade, graduating from Purdue Univeristy, spending 8 years in acute care with Community Health Network as a Clinical Pharmacist, and now in ambulatory care with the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, Dan has always maintained his fascination with the outdoors. Exploration in the woods behind his childhood home, years in Scouting earning the rank of Eagle Scout, and traveling with his wife have fueled a continued love for everything outdoors and nature.

Dan’s passion for trees started young with his dad always wanting to have “the 50 trees of Indiana” in the woods behind their house, continued to grow with Wildlife in America classes at Purdue University and when family gifted him a membership to the Arbor Day Foundation, and continues to be fueled by the connections made through conservation and the idea of helping others in all walks of life through the simple act of planting and caring for trees. Through his membership with the Arbor Day Foundation, Dan has learned the vital role trees play in every day life, the countless benefits they afford, and the amazing connections that can be made through the process with the Arbor Day Foundation recently partnering with the United Nations to ramp up global sustainability efforts.

In addition to the outdoors, Dan has a great love for his family and a faith rooted in Christ. His love for all three inspire him to be a good steward and effect positive change that will create a future he envisions for his children and grandchildren. The prospect of making a positive impact on his surroundings and people he meets along the way is great.
